In the learning environment of our school, children are taught in small
classroom groups to insure a sense of belonging in this first step outside
the family. There is a high ratio of adults to children in order that children
receive responsive attention and support. Daily activities include a balanced
program of indoor/outdoor, quiet/active, teacher-directed/child-directed,
and planned/emergent experiences. Classrooms are filled with abundant hands-on
material, encouraging exploration, creativity, building, fantasy, and communication.
The weekly program includes ample involvement of classroom parents, synagogue
rabbis, and music and movement specialists.
Our school seeks to use the Jewish tradition to support, further develop,
and stimulate the child's continuous growth process. We follow the yearly
cycle of the Jewish holidays; each week highlighted by the Friday Shabbat
celebration. Jewish values and concepts such as the synagogue, tzedakah,
Israel, care for the elderly, etc. are also part of the curriculum.
Our school is accredited both by the National Academy of Early Childhood
Programs and the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles. We are
licensed by the State of California, Department of Social Services.
