Music and Dramatic Arts Programming
2013-2014 will be the richest year ever at VBS when it comes to Music and Drama. You may have already had a taste of both of these arts during our August 31 S’lichot service.
This innovative service featured the debut of a new dramatic piece by Theater Dybbuk which integrated original liturgical music by our Music Director Chris Hardin and Cantor Phil Baron.
This year’s music programming will trace the development of Jewish music in its historical development from the Temple period, to the Renaissance, the the 19th and 20th centuries and beyond.
Our schedule of music programs will feature our regular services, including Rimonim and Cantor Fox’s always-entertaining Farbrengen, but our historical journey will also include several concerts, an evening at the “VBS Cafe” and a city-wide music festival. Please join us for an entertaining, educational, and meaningful year of Music and Drama at VBS.
