jhoffman (26K)

Rabbi Joshua Hoffman joined the VBS rabbinic staff after being ordained from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in May 2003. Rabbi Hoffman also received his M.A. in Education from the University of Judaism in 1999 and his B.A. in English and American Literature from Brandeis University in 1996. He has taught in the Los Angeles Jewish community for the past 9 years, including as a lecturer in Liturgy at the University of Judaism, a rabbinic internship at Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills, CA, and as a faculty member of Los Angeles Hebrew High School. Rabbi Hoffman currently serves as Chairperson of the West Valley Rabbinic Task Force and participates in the STAR PEER program, a select national program training rabbis to lead the Jewish community to a vibrant future. He hopes to continue building a dynamic and active community here at VBS while working with the various schools and the youth department. Joshua is married to Becky, a recently ordained rabbi from HUC-JIR in Los Angeles. Together they have two children, Ethan, and Arianna.
