Valley Beth Shalom Congregational Choir
Valley Beth Shalom Congregational Choir is now under the direction of Chris Hardin. Chris has been our accompanist for many years as well as producing the Rimonim Services with Cantor Phil Baron. Chris took over the leadership of the choir in 2013 and has written and arranged much of the service music and many of our special programs.
Under the direction of its 30 year conductor Aminadav Aloni, (z”l) and his successor, Dr. Noreen Green, the VBS Congregational Choir became known as the premier volunteer synagogue choir in Los Angeles. The Choir debuted many of Aloni’s compositions, sung at numerous synagogues in Southern California, and engaged in joint concerts with university and church choirs in the region. The Choir has grown in its reputation as an excellent ensemble that performs for services as well as community events. The choir has sung at such prestigious venues as The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Gindi Auditorium at the American Jewish University and The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown Los Angeles. The choir has been the invited ensemble to numerous Interfaith concerts and special services outside of Valley Beth Shalom. In addition it is the choral ensemble that performs regularly with the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony.
