Shalom ECLC Families!

"It took a while, but 140 VBS ECLC Mitzvah Day Hygiene Kits (which also included fleece blankets and socks) finally made it on Sunday to "New Friends Homeless Center" here in Encino. Pastor April and her team were so appreciative, and they will also distribute some of the kits at their other location in Woodland Hills. Pastor April and I already started discussing further possible collaboration and volunteer opportunities for our students for next year.

Yom Ha'atmaut celebration for ECLC families this Tuesday, May 14th!

We are pleased to announce the 2nd annual ECLC Israeli Shuk, celebrating Israel's 76th year of Independence. Please join us at VBS on Tuesday, May 14th, following Hebrew School at 6:15 p.m. in Sher Lopaty. All ECLC families, including siblings and extended family, can attend. Pizza and salad will be provided at no cost, and additional Israeli food and treats will be available for purchase!

Please be advised:

There is no school this Sunday!

Treat your mother well, and enjoy your day off!

We will resume school on Tuesday, May 14th.

Anticipation Builds for the All-School End-of-Year Culmination

It's hard to believe our end-of-year celebration is 9 days away!

This important event will celebrate the achievements of all our students, with special recognition for our graduating 7th graders and 3rd graders who will be receiving their first Siddurim. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19th, a memorable day for our school community.

A COMMUNITY EVENT!

Valley Beth Shalom has been a beacon and a pillar in the Jewish Community for decades. The spirit of love and dedication fills our campus.

The surrounding communities recognize the love and dedication VBS exuberates and have partnered with 30 different Jewish organizations to put on a magnificent event this Monday, May 13th.

5:00 pm - 6:30 pm Free Family Israeli Festival
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm - Yom Hazikaron Commemoration followed by Yom Ha'atzmaut Celebration
8:00 pm - Israeli dancing with Orly Star

This is a free community event with food available; please keep in mind that ID is required upon entry to VBS.

Open to the Community • Non-Members Welcomed!

In the summer of 2021, the VBS Youth Department launched an 8-week Summer Camp combining Bachutz hikes all over Los Angeles, Chesed work at various organizations, weekly beach outings, plus Friday Adventure Days with exciting activities like Surfing, Parasailing, Kayaking, Trapeze, Paintball, Goat Yoga and more!

In our first year, we welcomed 65 teens who had the summer of their lives! In the following two years, we enrolled 150+ teens! This Summer, thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Federation, we are adding a second location in Silver Lake at the SIJCC, expanding Camp ViBeS to underserved Jewish teens throughout LA!
