Head of Finance and HR

Karin Mendel joined Valley Beth Shalom in 2016 as the Director of Finance and Operations for the Valley Beth Shalom Harold M. Schulweis Day School. In 2019 she became the Director of Finance and Operations for all of the schools of Valley Beth Shalom, including the Day School, Early Childhood Center, and Etz Chaim Learning Center. In 2022, she moved into the Head of Finance and HR position for the synagogue.

Prior to joining VBS, Karin was the Director of Operations for Jewish National Fund, an organization that raises money for Israel. In her spare time, Karin loves to travel, spending time with her family, and being outdoors.
