Shabbat Morning (Saturday)
Shabbat Morning (Saturday)
Valley Beth Shalom buzzes every Saturday morning in celebration of Shabbat.
We are a synagogue that prays, learns, and celebrates together.
Explore our various venues and services below for prayer opportunities on Shabbat Morning.
Main Sanctuary
Each Saturday morning, the main sanctuary teems with joy-filled celebration, prayer and study. Services begin at 9:45 a.m.
Torah Study
Join Rabbi Ed Feinstein every week from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. to probe the week’s Torah portion. If you are unable to attend in person, we offer Torah Study via Live Stream programming. Visit vbs.org/livestream for more info.
Library Minyan
Meets the 2nd and 4th Shabbat morning every month. This is a lay-led and study-filled experience using many contemporary melodies. This minyan meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Bernstein Balcony Seminar Room on the second floor.
Tot Shabbat
Meets the 2nd and 4th Shabbat morning every month. A spirited service for our youngest congregants with guitar, song, and a story. The service begins at 10:00 a.m. and is followed by a light kiddish (bagels and cookies).
Kids Minyan
A lively Saturday morning service for elementary school age kids and their families. Each month, children are assigned roles in the service including singing, reading Torah, and sharing a teaching (d’var Torah).
N'Shama Minyan
Officiated by Rabbi Nina Bieber-Feinstein, and Cantorial Soloist Cindy Paley Aboody, this women-led minyan is open to all and meets periodically to celebrate Shabbat.
Playground Minyan
A lay-led service with contemporary melodies. Children are encouraged to intermingle with adults and to participate in the service. This service begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Early Childhood Center Classroom followed by lunch and occasional Torah Study.
Parsha Discussion Group
Informative group meeting immediately following Shabbat services. No prior knowledge is necessary. Shiur meets most Saturdays unless there is a Shabbat Shiur.
Meditation Services
This group meets on Shabbat mornings once a month in Winer Chapel. For one hour, you can quiet the mind while opening up the soul and experiencing Shabbat in a new light.
Shabbat Shiur
These programs are offered periodically following Shabbat morning services and kiddush luncheon, starting at approximately 12:30 p.m. The program features speakers from the Jewish community providing insight into contemporary topics of interest. Past programs have featured a wide variety of extraordinary teachers and individuals who have something of interest to share with our community. Check our Upcoming Events for current program information.
