Shabbat Morning (Saturday)

Valley Beth Shalom buzzes every Saturday morning in celebration of Shabbat.

We are a synagogue that prays, learns, and celebrates together.

Explore our various venues and services below for prayer opportunities on Shabbat Morning.

Main Sanctuary

Each Saturday morning, the main sanctuary teems with joy-filled celebration, prayer and study. The service begins at 10am, concludes around 12pm, and takes place in Sher Lopaty. We begin with Shacharit, a musical segment with some of our most beloved and familiar morning prayers led by our Cantors. By around 10:30am, we reach the Torah service, during which the Torah is taken out and portions of it are chanted (by B’nai Mitzvah if there is one that day), community members come up for aliyot, our Rabbis inspire with modern-day lessons from the Torah, and we recite prayers for our community, country, and Israel. Musaf, the concluding portion of the service which includes music, Kaddish, and the wine and challah blessings, begins around 11:30am. Following the service is a Kiddush Luncheon down the hall, open to the whole community, which is an opportunity to nosh and schmooze.
