New Member Timeline
Your First Year of Membership
During your first year of membership at VBS, you will be contacted by our staff and offered opportunities to participate in our programs, volunteer opportunities, holiday celebrations and so much more.
Your first year will also include:
- Invitation to a Covenanting Ceremony, a special Sunday morning event for your family that provides an opportunity to meet with one of our Rabbis, our lay leaders, and fellow new members, where we share with you what Valley Beth Shalom means to us and to formally welcome you into our community
- A member contacting you about joining a Havurah, a group composed of members of the Synagogue who join together in each other's homes to celebrate, socialize and learn
- An opportunity for your family to have a one-on-one meeting with one of the VBS Rabbis
- Additional opportunities to meet and develop connections with VBS members
- If you have children enrolled in our schools, you will have opportunities to meet with school staff and parents throughout the year, and attend events at the school
