Introducing "SAYVA University"
So many years ago we went to school. Back then, school was about preparing for a career and for life. Now we've arrived at the time when we can do school again, but this time to explore the great ideas, to grow in our curiosity, to enrich our perspective, to really learn. Welcome to "SAYVA University" ...learning for people who are really ready to learn!
Our first course....
"The Dream That Is Israel"
Since the catastrophic events of October, our eyes and hearts have been turned toward Israel. This is the right time to turn back to the beginning, to the dreams and visions that brought Israel into being. Our course will offer a close reading of the philosophical and political documents that envisioned a Jewish state, and to the poetry, music, and literature that celebrated that vision.
- Wednesday, January 31 from 4:00-5:30pm, at Temple Judea
- Wednesday, February 7 from 4:00-5:30pm, at LA Jewish Health (Fountainview)
- Wednesday, February 14 from 4:00-5:30pm, at Valley Beth Shalom
The course is open to the community. Free of cost. This is a three week series - note that there is a different location each week. Registration required via the link below.
