VBS Member High Holiday Seating Form 2021

We are thrilled to announce that we will once again have in person High Holiday services at VBS, in addition to an online broadcast service option. As we return again to VBS and embark on a new plan for the High Holidays, we thank you in advance for your flexibility and patience.  PLEASE NOTE: all on site service attendees must be fully vaccinated. No children under 12 will be allowed to enter any on site High Holiday service.

This year, we are asking all of our members to indicate their High Holiday service preferences, regardless of prior year’s selections. Please note that all service selections on this form include unassigned seats. If you'd like to upgrade to reserved seats in the Main Sanctuary Service, we invite you to join our Premier program at vbs.org/premier.

To select your service preference (based on availability), as well as purchase additional tickets, please complete the form below by August 5, 2021. Unless you hear from us, your first service choice is confirmed. If your first service choice is full, we will contact you to confirm your second choice.

Here is what you need to know for this year's services:
  • We will have two Main Services -- morning and afternoon, early and late Kol Nidre -- led by Rabbi Feinstein, Rabbi Farkas, Cantor Baron, Cantor Fox and a small choir in the Niznick Sanctuary. Second day Rosh Hashanah will only have a morning service (no afternoon services that day). This year, our Main Service will be about two hours long, including our traditional prayers, reading of the Torah and the Rabbi’s sermon.
  • This year, we will not be offering the same parallel service in Malkin-Burdorf Hall. Instead, Malkin-Burdorf Hall will now host our Traditional Minyan Service which will have open seating for all. The Traditional Minyan Service will offer a fuller rendition of the holiday prayers, led by members of our congregation, with teaching offered by Rabbi Cheryl Peretz who will be joining us for the holidays.
  • Our Sephardic Service led by Sephardic Cantors will be held in Sher-Lopaty Chapel. All seating will be open/unreserved.
  • We will offer a broadcast service for those who prefer to join a virtual worship experience from home.
If you have any seating/ticket questions, please reach out to Susan Rubin, High Holiday Seating Manager, at 818.530.4056 or srubin@vbs.org or contact our main office at 818-788-6000.

For questions about tickets to the Sephardic Service only, please contact Janet Djalilmand, at 818.530.4009 or jdjalilmand@vbs.org.

If you have not yet renewed your VBS membership for 2021-2022, we hope you will be with us again this year. We cannot confirm any seat selections if your membership has not yet been completed. Please visit this link to log in and renew online.

We hope you will join us for the coming year! At this time, we are unable to accept seating requests until your membership has been renewed for 2021-2022. Please visit vbs.org/renew to log in and complete the process. If you have any membership-related questions, please contact Natasha Benzaken, Membership Manager, at 818.530.4008 or nbenzaken@vbs.org

Please note that for the Main Sanctuary and Sephardic Services, your membership includes tickets for the heads of household only. For the other services, your children may attend with you at no additional cost. Unless you hear from us, your first service choice is confirmed as soon as you submit this form, and you will be issued unassigned seats (as many as you indicate per your membership) in that service.
Please choose your second service choice in the event that we are unable to accommodate your first choice. We will contact you to confirm your second choice if your first choice service is full.
