Technology Academy Grades 4-6
ECLC Technology Academy
The Etz Chaim Learning Center Technology Academy serves as an alternative to traditional Jewish learning for students in grades 5-6. This innovative program provides students with a Jewish and Hebrew learning experience through technology using computer programming, blogs, and games. This class satisfies all ECLC requirements.

Academics
The educational goals of this program is to provide students the opportunity to participate in an alternative Jewish learning experience. Through a unique curriculum students will connect Torah, Holidays, Social Action, Israel, Prayer, and much more to technology. Students will learn how Jewish learning can be combined with technology and the impact that programming, blogging, gaming, podcasts, and more can influence others. Students will work collaboratively to research their Jewish learning and apply it various computer projects. Through team building and partnership students will have the chance to create programs that can be used in the ECLC community as well as the entire VBS community.
Who Can Join
This program is open any students in grades 5 and 6 in the community, including VBS Day School Students. Membership to a synagogue is a prerequisite; if not a member a synagogue, membership at VBS is required. For VBS members, participation in this program will satisfy the academic and hourly student requirements of the Etz Chaim Learning Center as well as B’nai Mitzvah preparation.
Class Days and Times
The Technology Academy meets at the same time as our traditional school. Classes meet on Tuesdays from 4:00-6:15 pm and on Sundays from 9:30 -11:45 am.
