MAKE SACK LUNCHES

Feed the hungry: Our Brown Bag Lunches will go to guests of Hope of the Valley. Complete this registration commitment to let us know how many you'll be dropping off. 

To assemble the lunch you'll need:

  • A brown paper or ziplock bag
  • Peanut butter or nut butter alternative of your choice
  • Jam or jelly
  • Bread of choice
  • Sandwich baggies
  • Small fruits like a small apple or clementine
  • Soft cereal bars
  • Napkins

You will also need a mask and pair of disposable gloves for each person participating. Each sack lunch must contain 1 sandwich,  1 fruit,  1 cereal bar,  and 1 napkin. If you have young children you could have them color on the bag and/ or make cards to drop in bag as a note of encouragement.

Join us on Zoom to pack lunches with our community on Sunday, November 8 from 9:30am-11:30am, then drop off your items at VBS between 12:30pm-2pm.

PREPARE CASSEROLES

Feed the hungry: Prepare casseroles that will be baked later on. Pre-registration is required for the sauce class; click here to enroll. Complete this registration commitment to let us know how many casseroles we can count on you to bring. Casseroles must be prepared wearing gloves and mask. A follow along video will be provided to those who register to commit baking casseroles for Mitzvah Day.

Join us on Zoom starting at 9:30am (must have registration commitment signed) and bake your casseroles with Chef Danny Corsun on Sunday, November 8.

ASSEMBLE THANKSGIVING BASKETS

Nourish the hungry: Assemble Thanksgiving Baskets for families with the Department of Children and Family Services. Using a grocery bag, please fill with the following items:

  • 2-4 cans of peas or green beans
  • 2-4 cans of corn
  • 1 can of yams
  • 2 cans of cranberry sauce
  • 1 box of instant mashed potatoes
  • 1 box of cornbread mix
  • 1 box of stuffing mix
  • Gravy packet(s)
  • pumpkin pie filling
  • canned sweet potatoes

Join us on Zoom starting at 9:30am on Sunday, November 8 to assemble baskets as a community.
