Project Pushcart 2021

During the High Holidays, VBS congregants lend support to those in need throughout our greater community.

What We Are Collecting

VBS Food Bank Collection

Help VBS and SOVA alleviate hunger together. The VBS Food Bank helped feed more than 1,000 hungry families last year. Item drop off available at VBS beginning on Erev Rosh Hashanah and throughout Yom Kippur. Urgently needed items include:

  • Tuna
  • Mac & Cheese
  •  Canned Soup
  • Peanut Butter 16oz
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Tomato Sauce 16oz

Non-expired food items only. No glass containers. No Costco/bulk size items, please.

Adult Shoe Collection

VBS supports the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, working to make homelessness history by offering immediate assistance and long-term solutions to those experiencing poverty and hunger. You can help by bringing gently used or new shoes in all adult styles for donation.

Women’s Center Collection

Help women in Los Angeles find a path to personal stability. The Downtown Women’s Center is on a mission to end homelessness for women through housing, wellness, employment and advocacy. We are collecting brand new women’s underwear in sizes 4-8 (XS-M) for donation.
