Social Action
“The Torah begins and ends with acts of caring, loving kindness.” (Talmud: Sotah 14a)
Serving others is a great way to grow, meet others, and discover your unique contribution to making the world more just. VBS is a pioneer in social justice work as well as mental health counseling because we believe that life is enriched when we care for others and ourselves.
Caring for Ourselves:
So Healthy Together - VBS resources for mental health and wellness.
Counseling Center - Mental health counseling for all those who need it.
Hope Connection - Mourning the loss of a loved one.
Caring for our VBS Community:
Caring Connection - Visiting the sick, connecting with mourners, and Jewish medicine and ethics.
Caring for our Local Community:
Chesed Connection - Our resource for volunteers. Feed the hungry, care for the poor and sick, help house the homeless and more.
Caring for our Global Community:
Jewish World Watch - Founded at VBS, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating genocide.
