ECLC Weekly Update 3/5

03/05/2023 11:39:23 AM

Mar5

Shalom ECLC Parents -

A few weeks ago Omri, our Israeli ShinShin (a high school graduate who is taking a Gap year before joining the Israeli Army, went on a short trip back home to visit his family. Before he left, he told his students  ( 7th graders and the 3rd graders) about his plans to visit Jerusalem and the Kotel (the holiest place for the Jews, the Western Wall of the ancient Jewish Temple). He asked the students to write a note, a wish, or a prayer and promised he would take it into the Kotel and place it between the ancient blocks of the wall. This week he kept his promise and he placed the ECLC student's notes in the Kotel, in the land of Israel!  See the Images above and the short Video here.

On Sunday the ECLC will celebrate Purim. Please have your child come dressed up in their favorite costume so we can all be and experience the spirit of Purim together. We will also have our Mitzvah for the ECLC, designed and led by the 7th-grade class. Also, we kindly ask each family to bring a non-perishable, canned food/pantry item on Sunday so we can donate the food back.

Lastly, RSVP is now open for our ECLC Shabbat Dinner, Friday, March 24th, celebrating Israel's 75 years of Independence. We have worked with LA Kosher on a yummy feast, including two main courses (Chicken and Fish). Also, Gluten Free and Vegetarian options will be provided as well.

ECLC families who RSVP will automatically join a raffle to win $1,000 off the VBS Israel trip planned for this summer with Rabbi Lebovitz.  We’ll have Rabbi Feinstein and Cantor Raffi leading us Tefillah before dinner and we’ll have a special interactive performance for the whole family with the Bible Players after dinner! It's going to be so much fun!! RSVP HERE.
