We Invite You to Return Again!

In consultation with medical experts and state and county health authorities, we are thrilled that we will once again have High Holiday services in person at VBS, in addition to an online broadcast service. We thank you in advance for your flexibility, patience and understanding as we continue to update our protocols and plans.

This year, we are asking all of our members to indicate their High Holiday service seating preferences, regardless of prior year’s selections. Please note that all service selections on the form include unassigned seats. If you'd like to upgrade to reserved seats in the Main Sanctuary Service, we invite you to join our Premier program at vbs.org/premier.

We request that all VBS Members select your service preference (top two options, based on availability) with option to purchase additional tickets on our 2021 High Holiday Seating Form (click here) by August 5, 2021, so we can ensure you receive tickets for High Holiday services. We will do our best to accommodate requests received by the due date. For general ticket information, please call 818.788.6000.

Here is what you can expect this year for in person service options*:

  • We will have two Main Services -- morning and afternoon, early and late Kol Nidre -- led by Rabbi Feinstein, Rabbi Farkas, Cantor Baron, Cantor Fox and a small choir in the Niznick Sanctuary. Second day Rosh Hashanah will only have a morning service (no afternoon services that day). The Main Service will be about two hours long, including our traditional prayers, reading of the Torah and the Rabbi’s sermon.
  • Malkin Hall will now host our Traditional/Playground Minyan Service which will have open seating for all. The Traditional/Playground Minyan Service will offer a fuller rendition of the holiday prayers, led by members of our congregation, with teaching offered by Rabbi Cheryl Peretz who will be joining us for the holidays.
  • Our B'Yachad Family and Tot Shofar Services will be led by Rabbi Avi Taff in the Levine Community Center for families with children of ECC and Elementary School age.
  • Our Sephardic Service led by Sephardic Cantors and a Rabbi and will be held in Sher-Lopaty Chapel.
  • We will offer a Studio Service Online Broadcast for those who prefer to join a virtual worship experience from home.
*Except for sections reserved for Premier members and their family, all seating will be unreserved/open.

If you have not yet renewed your VBS membership for 2021-2022, we hope you will be with us again this year. We cannot confirm any seat selections if your membership has not been completed. Please visit vbs.org/renew to log in and renew your membership online.
